A really long shower in an empty apartment:
No fear that the kid eating in the other room will choke on his Cheerios or that he will come into the bathroom, whip back the curtain, let piles of cold air into the steamy sanctuary and say, “Look, Mommy’s boobs are there!’
No bringing the phone into the bathroom to make sure I don’t miss a call.
Enjoying the virtual rivers of hot water that you get when you live in a reasonably well built building and take showers in late morning when everyone else has gone to work and the hot water tank is full-up again and living up to its name.
Eyes closed, mind wandering. Thoughts uninterrupted. Surrounded by steam.
Sadness, fear, anger, aches & pains, foolishness, drama, fatigue.
All of it washes away.
What’s left is softer. Brighter. More hopeful.
What’s left is just plain good.
I’m sorry but I have to laugh about the shower curtain, “Look mommy, boobs.”
LOL.

Is that a Christmas ornament? It sure is pretty.

The boobs thing is meant to be funny so I’m glad you laughed. I can’t help but crack up myself.
The picture is actually the pendant of one of my favourite necklaces. It’s a bit BIG but it goes with just about every colour and picks up all this warmth from your skin when you wear it…

I guess you know why I have to pipe in at this point… jk.
I love how kids are just say it.
Glad to hear that you had some peace in the shower.
