This week anyway……..
SONG LYRIC:
“Adjectives on the typewriter,
he moves his words like a prize fighter.
The frenzied pace of the mind inside of the cell.”
from — Shadow Stabbing by Cake
TWO DAYS:
Where my son hardly stuttered at all.
PROBLEM SOLVING:
Had trouble with my wireless router. Had already done literally everything the specialist helper at Apple suggested to try. Sent me a new router. Was still having trouble. Burst into tears because I was/am really just that tired and far too dependent on the internet…
Then I solved that problem too.
SAID NO:
To someone who wanted to hang out with me this weekend. I didn’t handle it perfectly but I put myself first and said at least 90% of what I needed to say to get what I needed without worrying about offending or hurting someone else. This, while certainly there are people who would disagree, is pretty new to me and I’m excited when I can pull it off.
LINE FROM CURIOUS GEORGE:
“I guess trophies help us remember what we’ve done
because you have to keep cleaning them.”
Said by — The Man With The Yellow Hat
GENUINE GRATITUDE:
For my home that I am building all by myself.
For the friends who make the previous sentence a lie.
For the painful freedoms of uncertainty.
For an unexpected “NO.”
For two unexpected “HELLO”s.
For solitude.
For putting things away so that I cannot see the mess of them anymore.
Literally.
And figuratively.
